Mineral Monday Series: Part 3 – Copper

    By kloup | Blog | Comments are Closed | 25 June, 2018 | 0

“A penny for your thoughts.” This common phrase can begin interesting discussions through varying subjects. In our case the expression has more than one meaning. In our #MineralMonday blog today, we plan to provide you with our thoughts and of course, useful information. Second, the penny reminds us of the very material it is made of, copper. If you are feeling a little tight (like us) on the budget these days; don’t worry, we’ll let you keep your penny and give you our thoughts for free!

    #MineralModay Series: Part 3 – Copper

Although the penny is of small worth in our world these days, without it we would have trouble making cents (pun intended). Likewise, copper, although only one mineral, can make a large impact on your pet’s health.

In Part 2 of our Mineral Monday series we discussed Iron and the vital role that it plays in the blood system. Bringing things together, copper also plays a significant role in the synthesis of hemoglobin (Protein responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood), myelin, body pigment melanin, and collagen. An important note to our joint pain sufferers, is the assistance that copper provides to myelin. Myelin sheaths surround the nerves of the body for protection. Copper aids in protecting the myelin sheaths which in turn protects the nerves. This process also aids in reduction of inflammation that may be causing pain to the joints.

Copper cannot be produced in the body and therefore is needed to be replenished on a regular basis through outside sources, such as OxyNu Supplements and a nutritious diet.

Furthermore, copper is essential to the overall health of your pet. Check out a list of benefits below:
